This is the single most common question we get. The short answer: they solve different problems. Here's how to think about it.

Where Yeelight Pro fits — residential premium + commercial

Residential — HDB, condo, EC and landed renovations

If your ID firm is already drawing a lighting plan with scene control, coved lighting, track spotlights over the dining table and dimmable downlights throughout, Yeelight Pro is the spec line that hits without overshooting into architectural-consultant territory. Scenes are set at the switch, zones are defined in the app, and the whole layout stays on the Yeelight Pro professional ecosystem — no mid-project app-swap. For HDB BTOs and condo renos done during the renovation phase, installing Yeelight Pro switches while the electrician is already on site is the cheapest moment to do it; retrofitting later means chasing walls again.

Commercial — offices, F&B, retail, hotels

Yeelight Pro is engineered for commercial duty cycles. Offices run daylight-tracking scenes and after-hours automatic shutdowns. F&B outlets need different scenes for lunch, transition and dinner service. Retail needs bright-even illumination on the shop floor and accent lighting on feature displays. • Wired smart switches (neutral-only): 1-gang, 2-gang and 3-gang wired switches with scene buttons and dimmer variants. Installed in an 86mm SG-standard backbox. Neutral wire mandatory (more on this below).
• Track-light systems: magnetic and surface-mount tracks in common SG lengths, with spot heads, linear heads, grille heads and pendant drops. Used for dining, kitchen islands, gallery walls, retail display and F&B feature lighting.

Neutral wire — why Yeelight Pro switches need it, no exceptions

Yeelight Pro smart switches ship only in the neutral version. There is no no-neutral variant. If your renovation involves Yeelight Pro switches, your electrician must pull a neutral wire to every switch point. This is not a recommendation — it's a product constraint. In Singapore, no home has neutral at the light switch point by default. HDB, condo, EC, landed, old build or new build — the SG electrical standard for lighting circuits runs live and switched-live only, with neutral terminating at the fixture. The only traditional exception is heater switches (storage and instant heaters), where neutral is already present because the appliance sits on its own dedicated circuit. For every other light switch point in the home, neutral has to be pulled by the electrician during the renovation — which is exactly why specifying Yeelight Pro at the drawing stage is the right moment to do it.
