Description

The Aqara Climate Sensor W100 is a high-precision temperature and humidity sensor with a 3.4-inch display and three smart buttons — running on Thread, Zigbee and Matter. It shows your room’s temperature and humidity at a glance on its screen, records the data in the Aqara Home app, and — through an Aqara hub — can trigger scenes or even adjust your air-conditioner. It runs on two CR2450 coin cells for up to two years. The W100 measures temperature and humidity only; it does not have an air-pressure sensor.

A 3.4-inch display you can read at a glance

The W100 has a 3.4-inch LCD that shows the live ambient temperature and humidity, plus a battery and signal indicator. You can switch the temperature unit between °C and °F by pressing the plus and minus buttons together. In Zigbee mode the screen has a secondary area that can display the reading from a second, associated Aqara temperature and humidity sensor — so one unit on your wall can show two rooms at once. Pair it with the Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor T1 as that second sensor.

Thread, Zigbee and Matter — dual-protocol from day one

The W100 speaks both Thread and Zigbee, with Bluetooth used for setup. To run it as a Matter device, you need a Matter controller and a Thread Border Router — the Aqara Hub M3 provides both in one unit. To run it in Zigbee mode, you need an Aqara Zigbee hub; the entry-level Aqara M2 Hub or the flagship Aqara Hub M3 both work. Either way, the sensor needs a hub for app history, automations and ecosystem control.

Three smart buttons — scenes, or control your aircon

The three customisable buttons read single, double and long presses for up to nine actions. Added through Matter, the buttons act as wireless switches that trigger scenes and automations across your smart home. Added through Zigbee and bound to an Aqara IR air-conditioner or thermostat controller such as the Aqara Hub M3, the buttons and the on-screen menu let you change the set temperature, switch between heating and cooling, and adjust the fan speed — turning the W100 into a wall thermostat for your aircon. A child lock disables the buttons when you need it.

Works with your smart home

As a Matter device the W100 works with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, Home Assistant and Homey through a Matter controller and Thread Border Router. It also works natively in the Aqara Home app through an Aqara Zigbee hub, where you get full history graphs, comfort-zone alerts and cross-device automations — for example, switching on a fan or dehumidifier through an Aqara smart plug when humidity climbs.
