Noise is barely perceptible — the C3’s ultra-quiet drive system runs from a minimum of about 26 dB, quiet enough to open the curtains gently at sunrise without waking the room. You can also tune how fast the curtains travel in the Aqara Home app, from a very slow, cinematic glide to a brisk everyday speed, so the motion suits the room and the moment.

Wired power — plan a point near the track

The C3 is a mains-wired motor: it runs on 230 V and needs a continuous power supply for uninterrupted performance, so plan for a power point near the head of the curtain track at installation. It is not battery-powered. If you would rather avoid wiring and clip a driver onto curtains you already have, the battery-powered Aqara Smart Curtain Driver E1 is the alternative.

Smart control through your Aqara hub

The C3 connects over Zigbee 3.0 and needs an Aqara Zigbee hub — such as the Aqara M2 Hub or the flagship Aqara Hub M3 — for app, voice and automation control. Once paired, it works natively in the Aqara Home app and in Apple Home through a compatible hub, so you can ask Siri to open the curtains, schedule them around sunrise and sunset, or trigger them from other Aqara devices. It is a Zigbee device rather than a native Matter product; it reaches Matter ecosystems when bridged through a Matter-capable Aqara hub.

Aqara offers a few ways to automate curtains, and it is worth picking the right one. This Curtain Controller C3 (2 N·m / up to 80 kg, wired) is the premium wired track motor — the one to choose for heavy or oversized curtains. The Aqara Smart Curtain Motor is the entry wired track motor (1.2 N·m, up to 50 kg) for everyday curtains. The Aqara Smart Curtain Driver E1 is a rechargeable battery driver that clips onto your existing rod or track with no wiring at all. Choose the C3 for heavy track curtains, the Smart Curtain Motor for lighter ones, or the E1 when you want to avoid wiring.
