The Aqara Dual Colour Temperature Driver T2 is an in-line Zigbee LED driver that turns an ordinary dual-colour-temperature (tunable white) LED downlight, spotlight or panel into a smart light: on/off, dimming and warm-to-cool colour temperature from the Aqara Home app, scenes and automations, all through an Aqara hub. It replaces the plain driver that came with the fitting, so the light itself stays as it is. Why buy the Aqara Dual Colour Temperature Driver T2 in Singapore

What the driver does

Aqara’s manual describes the Driver T2 as a built-in-Zigbee module that adjusts the brightness and colour temperature of an LED light and controls its on/off state. Paired with a device that has a hub function, it can be controlled remotely in the app, given timers, and combined with other smart devices for linked automations. In practice that means a room of plain tunable-white downlights gains the same behaviour as Aqara’s own Downlight T2: a motion sensor brings them up warm and low at night, a schedule cools them for the working day, and a Wireless Knob Switch by the door dims them without a phone.

The driver is wired between the mains and the fitting. Live and neutral go to the L and N inputs; the light’s three wires go to the LED+, LED-W (warm) and LED-C (cool) output terminals. A button on the body gives a quick on/off (short press), a link test with the hub (three quick presses) and pairing or reset (hold five seconds), with an indicator LED beside it.

15 W or 24 W — which one fits your light?

The two versions are not just different wattages; they drive different kinds of LED module. The 15 W driver (SSWHLQD11LM) is a constant-current driver. A DIP switch on the body selects the output current — 150, 200, 250, 300, 350 or 400 mA — with an output range of 15–42 V (15–38 V at 400 mA) and 2–15 W, up to a 50 V DC maximum. That suits the typical 7–15 W dual-colour downlight or spotlight module supplied with a constant-current driver. The 24 W driver (SSWHLQD12LM) is listed by Aqara’s Hong Kong store as a 24 V DC output, max 24 W, for fittings that expect a 24 V constant-voltage supply. Both take 100–240 V~ 50/60 Hz at 0.17 A.

If you are not sure which your downlights use, look at the label on the existing driver — it will state either an output current in mA with a voltage range (constant current) or a fixed 24 V output (constant voltage). Aqara’s Hong Kong listing also notes that one driver should feed one fitting, and that the Driver T2 is not for LED strips; for strips, use the Aqara LED Strip T1 instead. Ecosystems

The Driver T2 is a Zigbee device and needs an Aqara hub — the Smart Hub M100, Hub M2, Hub M3 or the compact Hub E1. Aqara’s manual notes that HomeKit support depends on pairing it with a compatible hub model, so if Apple Home is important to you, choose one of the HomeKit-capable hubs above. Aqara’s Hong Kong listing adds Apple Home Adaptive Lighting, adjustable dimming curves and a configurable colour-temperature range for matching the driver to the module. Once on the hub, the light appears in Aqara Home like any other Aqara light and can be grouped with the room’s other fittings.

Installing the Driver T2 in a Singapore home

Who installs it

Aqara’s manual is explicit: installation involves mains voltage and must be done by a qualified person to electrical regulations, with the power cut before wiring. It is indoor-only and must not be used in humid locations, and it produces heat in normal operation, so leave it uncovered in the ceiling void rather than wrapped in insulation. In an HDB or condo renovation, ask your electrician or lighting contractor to fit one driver per downlight; the fitting itself does not change.

Pairing and range

Add the hub to the Aqara Home app first, then add the driver from the app while it is powered; if it fails, move the hub closer and retry. After pairing, press the driver’s button three times quickly — or switch the circuit off and on three times — and the hub will chime to confirm the link is good. Because it is mains-powered, each driver also strengthens the Zigbee mesh for battery sensors nearby.
