The Aqara Camera E1 is an affordable indoor smart camera that swivels to follow the action — a motorised pan-and-tilt head sweeps a full 360° while a 2K sensor keeps faces and movement sharp. Sold by PassionHome as an Authorised Aqara Dealer in Singapore at S$129, it combines on-device person detection, 940nm invisible night vision and Apple HomeKit Secure Video support in a compact desk or shelf camera.

It records to a microSD card with no subscription, backs up to a NAS, and includes 24 hours of free critical-event cloud storage. It is a Wi-Fi camera — not a smart-home hub — so it is an easy, low-cost way to add a smart camera to a home you already run through Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa or the Aqara app.

2K pan-and-tilt video that follows the action

The Camera E1 records at 2K (1296p) through a wide-angle f/2.0 lens with a 101° diagonal field of view. Its motorised pan-and-tilt head turns a full 360°, so a single camera can watch an entire room rather than one fixed angle, and person tracking keeps a moving subject in frame. At night, 940nm infrared LEDs provide clear monochrome video without a visible glow. Note that the 360° figure is the coverage from the moving head — the lens itself sees 101° at any one moment.

Smart detection — on-device, no subscription

A built-in NPU runs person detection and motion-event filtering locally, so alerts work even if your internet drops, and video frames are processed on the device. Person and sound detection are surfaced in the Aqara Home app (sound detection is being added through a firmware update). When paired with Apple HomeKit Secure Video, Apple’s own people, animal and vehicle detection plus activity zones and on-device facial recognition run on your Apple home hub.

Works with your smart home

The Camera E1 is a Wi-Fi camera that fits into the ecosystem you already use:

• Apple HomeKit Secure Video — full HKSV support with end-to-end encryption and 10-day storage (an iCloud+ plan and an Apple home hub are required). Note that Apple Home does not expose the camera’s pan/tilt controls — use the Aqara Home app for those.
• Amazon Alexa and Google Home — stream a live view to compatible smart displays.
• Aqara Home — the full feature surface: pan/tilt control, person tracking, privacy mode and automations.
• Not a hub. Unlike the Camera Hub G3 or G350, the Camera E1 does not host Aqara Zigbee devices — it connects over Wi-Fi and can take part in Aqara automations on the same network. If you want a camera that doubles as a Zigbee hub, see the G3 or G350.

Installation in Singapore

The Camera E1 is an indoor camera (IP20 — not weatherproof), so keep it in living rooms, bedrooms, studies and other dry indoor spaces, not outdoors or in wet areas. It is powered over USB-C and requires a 5V/2A supply; the box includes a USB-A to USB-C cable but not a wall adapter, so use any standard 5V/2A USB charger. It connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi 6, WPA3) and pairs in the Aqara Home app. If your estate is running an Aqara group buy, a significant discount applies when your estate unlocks.
