Aqara Presence Sensor FP300
$99.00
A five-in-one ceiling sensor that combines PIR motion, 60 GHz mmWave presence, temperature, humidity, and ambient-light sensing, paired over Matter-over-Thread so it runs without an Aqara hub.
Description
The Aqara Presence Multi-Sensor FP300 is a 5-in-1 wireless sensor combining 60 GHz mmWave radar and PIR for accurate presence detection, with built-in ambient light, temperature, and humidity sensors all in one battery-powered unit. Sold by PassionHome — your Authorised Aqara Dealer in Singapore — with local availability, official 24-month Aqara warranty, and Singapore-based service through the Aqara Service Center at Tai Seng.

Why buy the FP300 in Singapore
- 5-in-1 sensor profile. PIR + 60 GHz mmWave radar + ambient light + temperature + humidity, all in one wireless unit. Useful for compact HDB and condo rooms where you’d otherwise need separate devices.
- True presence — detects stationary people, not just motion. PIR catches motion; mmWave catches micro-movements like breathing — so the FP300 keeps reporting “present” even when someone is sitting still or sleeping. Eliminates the false-absence problem common to PIR-only sensors where lights turn off while you’re working at a desk.
- Up to 3 years battery life. Two replaceable CR2450 coin cells deliver up to 3 years in Zigbee mode and up to 2 years in Thread mode (Aqara Lab figure based on roughly 240 daily reports across 4 hours of presence + light + temperature + humidity).
- Pairs directly to Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant, and Homey. Via Matter-over-Thread with a Thread-enabled Matter Controller — no Aqara hub required for the Matter path. Or pair via Zigbee to an Aqara hub for the full Aqara Home feature set.
- Authorised Aqara Dealer + 24-month warranty serviced in Singapore. PassionHome.sg is on Aqara’s official Singapore partner network; warranty service at the Aqara Service Center, Tai Seng. Estate group-buy pricing available — see active group-buys.
Key features

Dual PIR and mmWave sensors for precise presence
The FP300 combines a passive infrared (PIR) sensor with a 60 GHz mmWave radar. PIR catches motion when someone walks into the room. The mmWave radar catches micro-movements — breathing, small posture shifts — so the FP300 maintains an accurate “present” state even when a person is sitting still or sleeping. This dual-sensing approach is what eliminates the false-absence problem common to PIR-only sensors.
Detection range and field of view
Maximum detection range is 6 metres, with a 120° horizontal field of view. That covers most Singapore HDB bedrooms (3-4 m typical), study rooms, and small living areas from a single sensor. For larger living rooms or open-plan kitchens, mount the sensor at the centre of the longest wall or on the ceiling for full coverage. The fully rotatable base makes corner mounting effective without a separate bracket.
Five-in-one environmental sensors
Alongside presence detection, the FP300 carries:
- Ambient light sensor for lux-triggered automations (e.g. turn on the desk lamp only when illuminance drops below a threshold)
- Temperature sensor for heat-triggered automations (e.g. turn on the air-conditioner when room temperature crosses 28 °C)
- Humidity sensor for humidity-triggered automations (e.g. dehumidifier on when RH crosses your threshold)
All five sensor channels report to Aqara Home (or to your Matter ecosystem) in a single device — no need for separate temperature/humidity sensors or standalone light meters.
In-app customisation in Aqara Home
In Zigbee mode (via Aqara hub), the FP300 unlocks the full Aqara Home feature set: customise detection sensitivity, set no-person judgment cycle duration (see below), run AI space background learning for new install environments, and adjust reporting intervals to further extend battery life.
No-person judgment cycle — preventing false absences
Aqara FAQ Q1 documents the “No person judgment cycle” feature — used to accurately determine when nobody is present, avoiding false-absence triggers from people temporarily leaving the room or making slight movements. The radar needs to confirm “no person” for a complete cycle before triggering the absence state. If someone re-enters or environmental disturbance occurs during the cycle, the timer restarts from the next “no person” state. Shorter cycle = faster trigger; longer cycle = better accuracy. Set per scenario in Aqara Home.
Sensitivity recommendations by scenario
Aqara recommends:
- Low sensitivity — bathrooms, hallways, short-stay areas (under 20 minutes)
- Medium sensitivity — study rooms, living rooms, daily use scenarios
- High sensitivity — bedrooms, long-stay areas (over 8 hours — resting / sleeping)
Setting sensitivity appropriate to the room reduces false detections in short-stay areas (where transient activity outside the room can trip a too-sensitive sensor) and ensures accurate stationary-presence detection in bedrooms (where someone sleeping doesn’t move much).
AI space background learning
When first installed or after the environment changes (furniture moved, new electronics nearby), the FP300 needs about 10 minutes (with no one present) to learn the spatial environment. To speed this up, run “AI space background learning” in Real-time debugging under Zigbee mode. This recalibrates the sensor’s baseline and improves accuracy. Also useful when the sensor falsely reports presence when nobody is there — Aqara’s recommended fix for that scenario.
Smart home connectivity — Thread plus Zigbee, two modes

Thread Mode (default — no Aqara hub required)
Pair the FP300 directly to a Matter Controller and Thread Border Router on your network. That can be an Aqara Hub M3 or Hub M200, an Apple HomePod (or HomePod mini / Apple TV with Thread), a Google Nest Hub Max, an Amazon Echo with Thread support, or a Samsung SmartThings hub with Thread. Once paired, the FP300 surfaces natively across Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, Home Assistant, and Homey.
Zigbee Mode (for Aqara hub owners — full feature set)
If you have an Aqara hub (M3 or M200), pair the FP300 via Zigbee to that hub to unlock the full Aqara Home feature set. Zigbee mode enables advanced sensitivity controls, AI space background learning, no-person judgment cycle settings, custom reporting intervals (to further extend battery), and direct device-to-device binding with other Aqara devices. The hub then bridges the FP300 into your Matter ecosystems via Aqara’s Advanced Matter Bridging.
Cross-ecosystem support — with one important caveat for Alexa
The FP300 surfaces presence, temperature, and humidity sensors across all major Matter ecosystems (Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant). Important Alexa caveat: Aqara documents that the FP300’s illumination/light sensor channel does not surface in Amazon Alexa. This applies to both Zigbee and Thread modes. The other 4 sensor channels (presence + temperature + humidity + the 2-state radar/PIR outputs) work in Alexa; only the illumination/lux sensor is excluded. The other three ecosystems (Apple Home, Google Home, SmartThings) expose all 5 sensors normally.
Smart Automations & Use Cases
The FP300’s 5-in-1 sensor profile unlocks single-device automations that would otherwise require multiple sensors:
- Adaptive lighting: IF presence is detected AND illuminance is under 400 lux THEN turn on the desk lamp
- Energy-efficient cooling: IF presence is detected AND temperature is over 28 °C THEN turn on the air-conditioner
- Sleep-aware automations: the stationary-presence detection holds steady even when you’re asleep, so “no person detected” triggers won’t fire while you’re in bed
- Humidity-triggered scenes: dehumidifier or AC dry-mode triggers based on the FP300’s RH reading
- Multi-sensor automations: combine FP300’s presence + ambient light + temperature with other Aqara devices (curtain controllers, smart switches, ceiling lights) for room-level adaptive behaviour
Installation in Singapore homes

Placement and mounting options
The FP300 supports multiple mounting options:
- Wall mount with adhesive sticker, magnetic surface, or screw fixation
- Ceiling mount with adhesive or screws
- Corner mount at 45° angle — Aqara’s recommended angle for room-scale coverage from a corner position
- Magnetic-surface mount via the included metal plate (PassionHome ships the PS-S04D kit) — works on any ferrous surface (fridge side, metal stud, filing cabinet)
For installation positions above 2 metres, Aqara recommends screw fixation rather than adhesive — at higher mounting points the magnetic / adhesive options can lose grip under gravity over time. Face the sensor towards where people typically are — that makes it easier to detect the subtle breathing micro-movements that anchor stationary-presence detection.
Installation environment notes
Aqara recommends avoiding installation near air-conditioner vents, air purifiers, or fans — moving-air interference can cause false motion triggers, particularly at low sensitivity settings. After installation, the FP300 needs time to learn the new environment (about 10 minutes with no one present); in highly disturbed environments, you may see initial false alarms that settle once the AI space background learning completes.
Battery installation and life in Singapore climate
The FP300 ships with 2 × CR2450 coin cells pre-installed (PS-S04D kit). Battery life: up to 3 years in Zigbee mode / up to 2 years in Thread mode at Aqara Lab conditions (25 °C room temperature, default dual presence mode, 4 hours of human presence daily, 240 environmental data reports daily, single Aqara Home platform). Singapore’s stable indoor temperature range (24-32 °C) sits well within the FP300’s normal operating window — battery life shouldn’t be materially affected by typical SG indoor climate.
Setup via Aqara Home + firmware updates
Open Aqara Home, tap “+” in the upper right, follow the prompts to add the FP300. For Matter mode, scan the FP300’s Matter Code. For Zigbee mode via an Aqara hub, select the hub during pairing. After adding, update the FP300 to the latest firmware on the App settings page — Aqara periodically releases firmware updates that improve detection accuracy and add new features.

Frequently asked questions
Does the FP300 detect stationary people, or only motion?
It detects both. The PIR sensor catches motion (someone walking into the room), and the 60 GHz mmWave radar catches micro-movements like breathing — so the FP300 keeps reporting “present” even when someone is sitting still or sleeping. This eliminates the false-absence problem common to PIR-only sensors, where lights turn off while you’re working at a desk.
What’s the detection range and field of view?
6 metres maximum detection range with a 120° horizontal field of view. That covers most Singapore HDB bedrooms (3-4 m typical), study rooms, and small living areas from a single sensor. For larger living rooms or open-plan kitchens, place the sensor at the centre of the longest wall or on the ceiling for full coverage.
Do I need an Aqara hub to use the FP300?
It depends on the mode. In Matter mode (Thread), the FP300 connects directly to any Matter Controller with a Thread Border Router — an Aqara Hub M3, Hub M200, an Apple HomePod, a Google Hub with Thread, an Amazon Echo with Matter, or a Samsung SmartThings hub. In Zigbee mode, you need an Aqara hub (M3 or M200) to unlock the full Aqara Home feature set including advanced sensitivity controls, AI space background learning, no-person judgment cycle settings, and the longest battery life.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 3 years in Zigbee mode and up to 2 years in Thread mode (Aqara Lab figures, based on roughly 240 daily reports across 4 hours of presence plus light, temperature, and humidity sensors at 25 °C). Singapore’s stable indoor temperature range (24-32 °C) sits well within the FP300’s normal operating window — battery life shouldn’t be materially affected by typical SG indoor climate. Both 2 × CR2450 coin cells ship pre-installed with the PS-S04D kit.
Can I use the FP300 outdoors?
No — the FP300 is rated for indoor use only (operating range −10 °C to 50 °C, 0 to 95% RH non-condensing). For outdoor presence detection at gates, driveways, or porches, look at the IP65-rated Aqara Camera G100 (founder-confirmed IP65 indoor/outdoor) or the Aqara Smart Camera G5 Pro Hub (IP65 outdoor flagship) — both have built-in motion detection alongside their camera function.
What’s the difference between the FP1E, FP2, and FP300?
The FP1E is the entry-level mmWave sensor — single-zone presence detection, Zigbee, mains-powered. The FP2 is the multi-zone variant — up to 30 customisable zones, Wi-Fi direct (no hub needed), mains-powered, ideal for room-scale automations including sleep monitoring and fall detection. The FP300 is the battery-powered 5-in-1 — adds environmental sensing (ambient light, temperature, humidity) on top of dual-tech presence detection (PIR + mmWave), with no wiring required. See the FP1E vs FP2 vs FP300 comparison table above for the full breakdown.
Does the FP300 work with Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, and SmartThings?
Yes — via Matter (Thread mode). Once paired to a Matter controller, the FP300 appears natively across Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, Home Assistant, and Homey. Important Alexa caveat: Aqara documents that the FP300’s illumination/light sensor channel does not surface in Amazon Alexa (this applies to both Zigbee and Thread modes). The other 4 sensor channels (presence + temperature + humidity + the radar/PIR outputs) work in Alexa normally. The other three ecosystems (Apple Home, Google Home, SmartThings) expose all 5 sensors.
Where can I mount the FP300?
Wall, ceiling, corner (45° recommended), or magnetic surface. The included metal plate has the FP300 snap onto it via the magnetic base — works on any ferrous metal (fridge side, metal stud, filing cabinet). The fully rotatable base makes corner mounting effective without an extra bracket, and the 120° field of view covers the full room from a corner position. Mounting height: for installations above 2 metres, Aqara recommends screw fixation rather than adhesive or magnetic — at higher mounting points the adhesive can lose grip over time. Face the sensor towards where people typically are, to make it easier to detect the subtle breathing micro-movements that anchor stationary-presence detection.
Why does the FP300 sometimes falsely report “present” when nobody is there?
Two common causes. (1) Environmental interference: the FP300 was installed near an air-conditioner vent, air purifier, or fan — moving air can mimic micro-movement signals. Move the sensor away from those sources. (2) New-environment adaptation: when first installed or after the environment changes (furniture moved, electronics added), the sensor needs about 10 minutes with no one present to learn the spatial environment. To speed this up, in Zigbee mode go to Real-time debugging → AI space background learning to recalibrate the baseline. Higher sensitivity also increases false-positive risk in disturbed environments — try medium sensitivity for typical living-room or study use.
Why doesn’t the FP300 detect “no presence” when I’ve left the room?
Three Aqara-documented fixes. (1) Update firmware: ensure the FP300 is on the latest firmware via Aqara Home App settings. (2) Set detection range: in Real-time debugging (Zigbee mode), customise the detection distance to avoid interference from areas outside the intended detection range (e.g. activity in an adjacent room). (3) Re-learn the environment: execute AI space background learning in Real-time debugging — the FP300 recalibrates the spatial baseline. Also check the no-person judgment cycle setting — shorter cycle gives faster triggering of “no person”; longer cycle improves accuracy.
Does Singapore’s humidity affect the mmWave detection?
No. The 60 GHz mmWave radar is unaffected by ambient humidity, dust, smoke, or visible light — it detects micro-movements directly through electromagnetic returns. PIR detection (the second sensing layer) can be slightly less responsive in extreme heat, but Singapore’s typical 24-32 °C indoor range is well within the FP300’s normal operating window. The mmWave sensor maintains accuracy regardless of seasonal or room-temperature changes.
Is there a local warranty?
Yes. The Aqara FP300 ships with a 24-month manufacturer warranty serviced at the Aqara Service Center at Tai Seng (Singapore). PassionHome can guide you through the warranty process if needed — reach out via WhatsApp +65 9051 7063. Bring the unit to the Tai Seng service centre directly; PassionHome’s Ubi office is for product collection only, not warranty intake.
How is PassionHome’s price compared to other resellers?
