The Aqara Smart Curtain Driver E1 (Track Version) motorises your existing U-Rail or I-Rail curtain track without replacing the rail. Mount it on the track, charge once, pair to an Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub, and your curtains open and close on schedule, by voice, by sunrise/sunset, or with a gentle tug on the curtain.

Track Version — for U-Rails and I-Rails (not curtain rods)

This is the Track Version. It supports U-Rail and I-Rail curtain tracks only — common in Singapore HDB BTO units and many condos. For curtain rods (25–32 mm diameter, smooth surface, non-extendable), the Aqara Smart Curtain Driver E1 Rod Version is the right SKU instead.

• U-Rail — bottom slot width ≤ 8 mm (0.31 inches), flat smooth surface, closure head needed, no protrusions or steps
• I-Rail — bottom width ≥ 10 mm (0.39 inches), flat smooth surface (circular arc bottom NOT supported), no protrusions or steps
• S-fold curtain tracks — NOT supported
• U-rail gliders without wheels — NOT supported

• Centre-open curtains: install two drivers per window and sync them in the Aqara Home app for balanced travel and longer battery life

Battery, USB-C charging, and tug-to-open

• Built-in 6,000 mAh lithium battery (not user-replaceable) — Aqara documents up to ~9–10 months between charges on a 1.5 m track + 12 kg curtain + once-daily open/close benchmark
• USB-C charging port — recharge via the included USB-C-to-USB-A cable from any phone charger, power bank, or USB outlet
• Constant power option — the driver can be tethered to USB-C for permanent power if the cable can be routed neatly
• Manual tug-to-open — pull the curtain about 10 cm in either direction and the driver finishes the action. Enable this in the Aqara Home app under the driver settings.

Tool-free installation

No drilling, no rail replacement. Hang the driver on your existing track and clasp it into place — the built-in buzzer beeps twice when it is correctly mounted. Then follow the Aqara Home app to add the device and set the open/close route. Most installs finish in under five minutes per driver.

Connectivity and ecosystem support

The Curtain Driver E1 uses Zigbee 3.0 and needs an Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub for setup, voice control, and cloud integrations. Once paired, it works with:

Which Aqara hub should you pair with this driver?

• Aqara M2 Hub ($99) — entry-tier Zigbee 3.0 hub with 360° IR blaster (also controls aircon, TV, fan). Best value if this is your first Aqara device.
• Aqara Hub M200 ($149) — Matter Controller + Thread Border Router + PoE + IR. Best for Matter ecosystem integration through Apple Home / Google Home / SmartThings.
• Aqara M3 Hub ($289) — flagship hub with Matter + Thread + Ethernet + eMMC + security-device class. Best for large smart homes with many child devices.
• Aqara Hub E1 ($49) — outgoing entry-tier Zigbee hub on final sell-through stock. Works with this curtain driver but the E100 successor is announced; M2 is the safer entry-tier pick going forward.

Automation triggers + the built-in light sensor
