A dial and a round touchscreen instead of a row of buttons
The Touchscreen Dial V1 replaces the usual two or four rockers with one rotary dial wrapped around a 1.32-inch round display. Turning the dial gives precise 1%–100% adjustment with haptic and audible feedback; tapping and swiping the screen switches between the devices and scenes you have assigned. The default configuration is two built-in relay switches for the wired lights plus six wireless switches, all set up in the Aqara Home app.
What the dial can adjust
With compatible Aqara devices the dial goes beyond on and off: brightness and tunable-white or RGB colour on Aqara lights, the open percentage of an Aqara curtain driver such as the Smart Curtain Driver E1, and the set temperature of an Aqara thermostat. Two limits are worth knowing before you buy. The dial’s precise-adjustment function is exposed only to compatible Aqara devices, not to third-party ecosystems, and the six wireless buttons control products synced to Apple HomeKit. Both settings are managed in Aqara Home.
Scenes and multi-device control
Assign a scene to a tap — movie night dims the living-room lights and closes the curtains, good morning opens them and warms the light — and rotate the dial to fine-tune whatever is currently on screen. For a bedroom, a single Dial by the door can run the ceiling light, the bedside lamps and the curtain without three separate switches.
Built-in temperature, humidity and presence sensing
A temperature and humidity sensor behind the face monitors the room in real time and shows the readings on screen, and can be used as the input for an Aqara thermostat or automation — useful in Singapore for triggering a dehumidifier or a fan when a room gets muggy. A built-in presence sensor provides proximity activation: the display lights up when someone approaches within about 2.5 metres (the distance is adjustable in Aqara Home) and can also serve as an IF trigger in automations. Auto-brightness adapts the screen to ambient light.
Customisable display
Screensavers show the time, date, weather and indoor conditions with a choice of themes, so the Dial doubles as a small wall clock and climate readout when it is not being used.
Dual-band Wi-Fi, no hub required
Unlike most Aqara wall switches, the Touchscreen Dial V1 connects directly to your router over Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac on 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz — 5 GHz for speed, 2.4 GHz for range through HDB walls — so no Aqara hub is required. Setup uses Aqara MagicPair: with Bluetooth on your phone, the Aqara Home app discovers the Dial automatically once the phone is on the same Wi-Fi network. Aqara lists compatibility with Aqara Home, Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Home Assistant, and the device can also connect through Matter, though some functions may not appear in every third-party Matter ecosystem; Aqara recommends adding it to Aqara Home to guarantee full features. The Dial also carries a Zigbee IEEE 802.15.4 radio and Bluetooth.
Touchscreen Dial V1 or Display Switch V1?
They share the same 86 × 86 mm face and are easy to confuse. The Aqara Display Switch V1 is a flat four-button switch with a 2.08-inch rectangular screen that runs on Zigbee and needs an Aqara hub for third-party ecosystems. The Touchscreen Dial V1 is the rotary-dial model with a round 1.32-inch screen, its own Wi-Fi radio and no hub requirement, and it adds a temperature and humidity sensor. Choose the Dial when you want precise adjustment of lights, curtains or a thermostat from the wall; choose the Display Switch for a conventional multi-gang switch with a status screen.
Installing the Touchscreen Dial V1 in a Singapore home
Neutral wire required
The Dial is rated 200–240 VAC, 50/60 Hz — Singapore’s 230 V supply is within range — with a maximum load of 8 A resistive. It requires a neutral wire: live to L, neutral to N, and the two lighting loads to L1 and L2. Most Singapore switch boxes do not have a neutral by default, so the Dial is best specified during a renovation or when an electrician can draw a neutral to the switch location. Box depth and professional installation
Check the back box: the Dial is 62.1 mm deep, deeper than a standard smart switch, so a shallow surface-mount box will not do.
