Description

The RG-EG710XS is the top of the Reyee gateway range: a 1U, fanless, cloud-managed router rated by Ruijie for up to 700 concurrent clients and 150,000 sessions, with two 10G SFP+ cages and four 2.5G copper ports on the front.

It is a router and a controller at the same time. Put it at the head of the network and it manages the Reyee access points and switches behind it — Ruijie rates it for 750 AP and NBS-series devices — from the same Ruijie Cloud dashboard you use for everything else.

Why this one

  • 700 clients, 150,000 sessions, 4000 Mbps in Turbo mode (3000 Mbps normal) — this is the model for a busy office, a large villa, or a serviced-apartment block.
  • Ten ports. 4 × 2.5G + 4 × 1GE copper, plus 2 × 10G SFP+; up to nine can be configured as WAN or LAN.

Where it fits

Choose the RG-EG710XS when the client count is the constraint — a full office floor, a co-working space, an F&B outlet with heavy guest Wi-Fi, or a large landed property with a dozen access points. If you are under roughly 400 clients and do not need 10G on two uplinks, the RG-EG406XS does the same job for less, and the RG-EG406XS-P adds PoE so it can power the access points directly.

Cloud management

Every device on this page is managed from the same place. Ruijie Cloud and the Ruijie Reyee App give you one dashboard for the router, the switches and every access point — add a device by scanning it, push firmware remotely, and see which client is eating your bandwidth. Ruijie states that basic Ruijie Cloud management is free for the lifetime of the product, with no per-device subscription.

Frequently asked questions

Do I still need a wireless controller for the access points?

No. The RG-EG710XS runs in AC mode and manages Reyee access points itself — Ruijie rates it for 750 AP and NBS-series devices, plus 128 ES-series switches. That is the point of the Reyee architecture: the gateway is the controller.

Is it noisy enough to sit in an office?

It is fanless. Ruijie specifies natural cooling and a maximum draw of 14 W, so there is no moving part to make noise. It occupies 1U of rack space and ships with rack brackets.

What VPN can it run?

IPsec, L2TP, PPTP, OpenVPN and WireGuard, in both server and client roles for WireGuard. Ruijie rates it at up to 300 branches or concurrent WireGuard tunnels, with 1100 Mbps IPsec throughput and 700 VPN accounts.

Can it do multi-WAN with two broadband lines?

Yes. Up to nine ports can be configured as WAN. It supports load balancing by flow or by source IP, bandwidth aggregation that Ruijie rates at 80% or better efficiency in lab conditions, and automatic failover if one line drops.

Does it power the access points?

No — the EG710XS has no PoE output. Pair it with a Reyee PoE switch such as the RG-ES209MG-P, or use the RG-EG406XS-P if you want PoE built into the gateway itself.
