Description

The RG-RAP72-Wall is Reyee’s Wi-Fi 7 wall-mount access point — a BE3600 dual-band radio in a slim unit that sits over a junction box instead of on a shelf. It is the model to specify when you want per-room Wi-Fi that is genuinely fast, and you also want wired ports where the AP lands.

Two things separate it from an ordinary wall AP. The uplink is a 2.5 Gigabit port, so the AP is not throttled to 1 Gbps before the traffic even reaches your switch. And it carries four Gigabit LAN ports plus a 10 W PoE Out, so a desk phone, a small camera or a console can plug straight into the wall plate.

Why this one

Wi-Fi 7, not Wi-Fi 6 with a new sticker. Ruijie confirms MLO (multi-link operation) and 4K-QAM on this model — the two features that actually change how a Wi-Fi 7 client behaves.
3570 Mbps across two bands (2882 Mbps on 5 GHz, 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz), 4 spatial streams, 160 MHz channels.

Powering it

This access point has no power adapter and no DC socket — it is powered over the network cable, full stop. An 802.3af source will run the AP; you need an 802.3at (PoE+) source before the 10 W PoE Out port will do anything. The tidiest answer is a Reyee PoE switch: the RG-ES206MG-P for one or two APs, the RG-ES209MG-P once you are covering a whole flat or a shophouse.

Cloud management

Every device on this page is managed from the same place. Ruijie Cloud and the Ruijie Reyee App give you one dashboard for the router, the switches and every access point — add a device by scanning it, push firmware remotely, and see which client is eating your bandwidth. Ruijie states that basic Ruijie Cloud management is free for the lifetime of the product, with no per-device subscription.

Frequently asked questions

Does the RG-RAP72-Wall come with a power adapter?

No. Ruijie’s datasheet lists no local power supply and no power adapter for this model — it is powered over Ethernet only. Any 802.3af or 802.3at PoE switch or injector will run it, but you need an 802.3at (PoE+) source if you want the 10 W PoE Out port to work.

Is this a Wi-Fi 7 access point with 6 GHz?

It is Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) but dual-band only. Ruijie’s specification lists 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios and states ‘no’ for a 6 GHz radio, with a maximum 5 GHz channel width of 160 MHz. The Wi-Fi 7 features it does carry are MLO and 4K-QAM, both confirmed on the official datasheet.

How many of these do I need for a Singapore flat?

Ruijie rates each unit at 55 m² of coverage in an unobstructed environment, so real walls will reduce that. As a working rule, one unit per bedroom or per major zone gives you a per-room signal rather than one router fighting through concrete. Can it replace my router, or does it need one?

It can do either. The RG-RAP72-Wall supports AP mode, routing mode and wireless repeater mode. In a multi-AP setup you would normally run it in AP mode behind a Reyee gateway such as the RG-EG406XS, which then acts as the controller for the whole network.

What junction box does it fit?

Ruijie states ‘junction box’ mounting and supplies a bracket with M4 × 25 mm screws, but does not publish a box standard for this particular model. The unit is 86 mm wide. If your box type matters for the install, message us before ordering and we will confirm against the current Singapore stock.

Can I power an Aqara hub from the RG-RAP72-Wall’s PoE Out port?

Not the Aqara Hub M3. Aqara rates it at 48V × 0.27A, about 13 W on PoE, while the RG-RAP72-Wall’s PoE Out is a 10 W budget (and only when the access point itself is fed by 802.3at). A 13 W load on a 10 W port will make the access point cut out. Plug the hub into one of the regular LAN ports and power it by USB-C at 5V 2A, or feed it from a PoE switch or PoE router port.
