What can the Aqara Vibration Sensor T1 do?

The Aqara Vibration Sensor T1 is designed to detect precise movements, including vibration, tilt, and drop actions, which can be used to trigger automations or security alerts.

Can the Aqara Vibration Sensor T1 be used independently? Will it sound an alarm?

No, the sensor must work with a compatible Aqara Hub. It does not have a built-in speaker to sound an alarm itself. Instead, when vibration is detected, it triggers the Hub to sound an alarm, flash lights, or send a push notification to your phone.

Why are “tap” or “vibration” events only triggered sometimes, despite constant movement?

This is due to the specific trigger logic:

1. The “Tap detected” event specifically requires a “triple-tap” motion within a short time frame.

2. The “Vibration detected” event is limited by your defined detection interval (e.g., 1s, 5s, or 10s). Once triggered, it will not register a new event until that time interval has passed.

Why are sensors placed on some objects easier to trigger than others?

Different materials, thicknesses, and structures absorb vibration differently. A force applied to a solid wooden drawer triggers the sensor differently than the same force on a soft surface. If detection is inconsistent, you can increase or decrease the sensitivity level in the Aqara Home app.

How do I adjust the sensitivity of the vibrations?

Open the Aqara Home app, navigate to the Vibration Sensor T1 page, click the “…” in the top right corner, and select “Adjust vibration sensitivity”. Choose your desired level (Low, Medium, High) and press OK. You must then single-press the reset button on the device to sync the new setting.

How to change the battery?

The sensor uses a CR2032 button cell battery. To replace it, place a coin in the groove of the battery cover and rotate it counter-clockwise to open. Insert the new battery into the compartment and rotate the cover back to lock it.

How to determine if the desired location is suitable for installation?

After pairing the sensor with the Hub, take it to your desired installation spot and single-press the reset button. If the Hub plays the “normal link confirmed” voice prompt, the connection is stable. If you hear nothing, move the sensor closer to the Hub and try again.
