Three actions, anywhere in the flat

At 45 × 45 × 12 mm the Mini Switch is smaller than a mahjong tile, and it ships with an adhesive sticker so it can live on a wall, a bedside table or the side of a cabinet. Aqara’s own example is a good template: single press arms the alarm, double press closes the curtains and turns off the lights, long press switches off every appliance. In a Singapore flat a common setup is one by the bed to kill all lights and drop the curtain, and one by the main door for Leaving home.

Setup is done in Aqara Home: add the switch to your hub, then attach an IF button pressed → THEN action for each of the three presses. Any Aqara device on the hub can be a target — lights, a Dual Relay Module T2 behind an existing switch, a curtain driver, or the hub’s own siren — and through the hub the press actions also appear in Apple Home for HomeKit scenes.

Doorbell and emergency button

Paired with an Aqara hub that has a speaker — the Hub M3, Smart Hub M100 or Camera Hub G3 — the Mini Switch becomes a wireless doorbell with a ringtone you choose in the app. Aqara’s note for metal HDB gates: do not stick it on the metal itself, which blocks the Zigbee signal; mount it on the wall beside the gate.

Set as an emergency button, a press sends a push notification to the family’s phones and sounds the hub alarm. It is a simple way to give an elderly parent a call button in the bathroom or bedroom, and the same hub can also carry a gas detector and door sensors on the same alert layer.

Installing the Mini Switch T1 in a Singapore home

Hub, range and placement

An Aqara hub is required — the switch is a Zigbee child device. Aqara advises no more than two walls between the switch and the hub, no more than 32 accessories on one hub, and no metal mounting surfaces. If the button is your first Aqara device, the Smart Hub M100 is the value pick and the Hub E1 is the smallest; if you want it in Apple Home with Matter, pair it with the Hub M3.

Battery and reset

One CR2032 lasts up to two years and is user-replaceable. To reset or move the switch to a different hub, hold the reset button for three seconds until the indicator flashes three times. Mini Switch T1 or H1 Wireless Switch?

The Mini Switch is a single round button for tabletop or pocket use. The H1 Wireless Switch is the same idea in a standard 86 mm wall-plate form with one or two rockers, and the Wireless Knob Switch H1 adds a rotary dial for dimming. For scene buttons in odd places, the Mini Switch wins on price and size.
