Full-spectrum light, tunable from 2700K to 6000K

Aqara describes the T2 Pro’s LEDs as full spectrum: light that covers the visible range more evenly than an ordinary white LED, which is what pushes the colour rendering index to Ra96. In practice that means a marble countertop reads white rather than grey, and a dark timber feature wall keeps its warmth. Colour temperature runs from 2700K to 6000K, so the same downlight serves as warm evening light and cool daytime task light.

Dimming is where the Pro separates itself from the standard T2. Aqara quotes 100,000 discrete levels and a custom dimming curve, and the Singapore distributor puts the floor at 1% — low enough for a corridor at 3 am. Dynamic light sequencing lets a group of downlights fade in one after another for a scene. The LED module and driver are separated (Aqara’s integrated module design) so heat stays away from the ceiling board.

Apple Home Adaptive Lighting and the wider ecosystem

Through an Aqara hub the T2 Pro appears in Apple Home with Adaptive Lighting, which shifts the colour temperature by time of day and your location — Aqara notes you need an Apple Home hub (a HomePod or Apple TV) for this to run. Aqara also highlights the iPhone Action Button to fire a preset scene, Apple Watch gestures for a Mindfulness scene, and a Shortcuts automation that dims the lights to a Sleep Aid scene when your phone starts charging.

The distributor confirms the T2 Pro also works with Google Home and Amazon Alexa for voice and cross-platform automations. On the Aqara side, group control lets a room of downlights behave as one, a Wireless Knob Switch H1 or Touchscreen Dial V1 gives a physical dimmer on the wall, and a Presence Sensor FP2 handles on and off automatically.

Choosing the right T2 Pro for each ceiling

75 mm or 55 mm

The 75 mm cut-out is the common Singapore renovation size and takes the 12 W light; the 55 mm cut-out takes the 8 W light for tighter ceiling cavities, bulkheads and wardrobes. Per the distributor’s variant list: the 75 mm trimmed black light comes in 15°, 24°, 36° and 60°; 75 mm trimmed white in 24°, 36° and 60°; 75 mm embedded (trimless) black in 24°, 36° and 55°; and the 55 mm trimmed black in 24°, 36° and 55°. Narrow beams (15°, 24°) are for accent — art, a feature wall; 36° for task light over a counter or dining table; 55° and 60° for general fill.

Trimmed, embedded, and the accessories

The pre-wired trimmed versions drop into a standard cut-out; the embedded versions sit flush with a plaster-in frame for a trimless look. Sold separately on this listing: a matte white reflector for the 75 mm or 55 mm light (S$29 each) and the 55 mm embedded frame (S$59). These accessories are not lights — pick the light first, then add the reflector or frame the design calls for.

Installation and hub

The T2 Pro is a mains-wired recessed fitting with a separate driver, meant for professional installation in a false ceiling — plan it with your renovation electrician at the same time as the ceiling work. It is a Zigbee 3.0 device and needs an Aqara hub: the Smart Hub M100 for a smaller flat, the Hub M2 if you also want aircon IR control, or the Hub M3 as the flagship.
