1080p video with a 146° field of view

The G2H Pro records Full HD 1080p (2 MP, 1920 × 1080) through a 146° diagonal lens. Aqara does not apply distortion correction, so the image keeps the characteristic wide-angle curve at the edges in exchange for seeing more of the room. For a typical 4-room HDB living room, a single G2H Pro on the TV console or a corner bracket covers the sofa, dining area and main door approach in one frame.

Fixed lens, flexible mounting

This is not a pan-tilt camera — the lens is fixed and you aim it by hand. What you get instead is a very small body (82.4 × 56.5 × 50.5 mm) on an extendable swivel arm with a magnetic base and a metal mounting plate in the box, so it sits flat on a shelf, sticks to the underside of a cabinet, or mounts upside-down on a wall bracket. If you need motorised tracking around a room, the Camera Hub G3 is the pan-tilt model in the range.

Night vision

At night the G2H Pro switches to infrared using 940 nm LEDs, which are invisible to the eye — no red glow in a bedroom or nursery. Night footage is monochrome; if you want colour night vision, look at the newer Camera Hub G5 Pro.

Two-way audio with noise cancellation

A built-in omnidirectional microphone with noise cancellation picks up voices clearly within about five metres, and an 85 dB speaker lets you talk back from the Aqara Home app or Apple Home — handy for checking on a helper, a pet or a child home from school.

Apple HomeKit Secure Video, privacy masking and activity zones

The G2H Pro carries the Works with Apple HomeKit badge and supports HomeKit Secure Video. In that mode, recordings are analysed on your own Apple home hub — an Apple TV or HomePod — to detect people, animals and vehicles and to recognise faces from your Photos library, with clips stored end-to-end encrypted in iCloud. Aqara Home adds activity zones so you can ignore a busy corridor outside a window, and privacy masking to black out areas you never want recorded. HomeKit’s four security modes let the camera switch off recording automatically when the family is in.

Storage: microSD up to 512 GB, NAS, iCloud and Aqara Cloud

You choose where footage lives. A microSD card of up to 512 GB (Class 4 or faster, not included) keeps continuous or event recordings on the camera; a NAS on your home network can receive recordings over Samba; Apple users can record to iCloud through HomeKit Secure Video; and Aqara Cloud stores short 7–10 second event clips for free. No subscription is needed for local storage.

A Zigbee 3.0 hub for up to 128 Aqara devices

Beyond the camera, the G2H Pro is a full Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub. Pair Aqara child devices such as the Door and Window Sensor P2, Motion Sensor P1, Presence Sensor FP1E and H1 Wireless Switch directly to it, and build automations in Aqara Home — lights on when the door opens after dark, a notification with a camera snapshot when motion is sensed while you are out. Aqara rates the hub for up to 128 Aqara sensors and controllers, with Zigbee repeaters needed for larger networks. Paired devices are exposed to Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa through the hub.

What the G2H Pro does not do

Aqara lists Zigbee 3.0 and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi as the G2H Pro’s radios — there is no Thread radio and Aqara makes no Matter claim for this 2021-era model, so its child devices reach third-party apps through Aqara’s HomeKit, Google and Alexa integrations rather than through Matter. Power and Wi-Fi

The G2H Pro is powered by 5 V / 1 A over Micro-USB (5 W maximum). Aqara includes a Micro-USB to USB-A cable but not a power adapter, so use any standard 5 V / 1 A USB adapter — the kind that ships with most phones. It connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only (802.11 b/g/n, WPA3 supported); if your router splits its bands, join the 2.4 GHz network during setup.

Placement

It is an indoor camera with no published IP rating and an operating range of −10°C to 40°C, so keep it out of bathrooms, service yards and direct sun through a window. Corner-high placement with the 146° lens gives the widest coverage; the magnetic base also lets it perch on a metal cabinet or the side of a fridge without drilling.
