Description
The Aqara Z1 Pro Smart Wall Switch turns a standard wall switch into a smart, app-controlled one — with a wireless touch slider built in, and a slim design that fits a standard Singapore wall box. Available in 1, 2, 3 and 4-gang versions in white or black, it runs on Zigbee 3.0 and installs with or without a neutral wire. The physical rockers keep working on their own, and with a compatible Aqara hub the switch adds Apple HomeKit, the Aqara Home app, voice control and whole-home automations.

A smart switch with a built-in wireless slider
Beyond switching its own wired circuits, every Z1 Pro carries a touch-based wireless slider. Slide up or down to brighten or dim a group of Aqara smart lights, or assign single-click, double-click and long-press gestures to curtains, scenes and automations in the Aqara Home app. It turns one wall plate into a controller for the wider smart home, not just the lights wired behind it.
Installs with or without a neutral wire
The Z1 Pro is designed for both neutral and no-neutral wiring, so you can match it to your existing electrical setup. In a no-neutral installation it needs a minimum load of 3 W. Wiring it with a neutral removes the minimum-load requirement and unlocks two extra protections — overheat and overload protection that automatically cuts the circuit, plus power-consumption reporting so you can track energy use. Where a neutral wire is available, we recommend using it for the added safety and monitoring.
Apple HomeKit, Aqara Home and voice control
The Z1 Pro is a Zigbee 3.0 device, so it connects to smart-home platforms through a compatible Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub such as the Aqara Hub M2 or the flagship Aqara Hub M3. With a hub in place it works with Apple HomeKit and the Aqara Home app, and supports Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice control. The switch can also be bridged into a Matter system through an Aqara Matter hub like the Hub M3. The physical rockers keep working locally even if your hub or internet is offline.
Gang options and the wireless 4th rocker
- 1-gang (ZNQBKG42LM): one wired lighting circuit.
- 2-gang (ZNQBKG43LM): two wired circuits.
- 3-gang (ZNQBKG44LM): three wired circuits.
- 4-gang (ZNQBKG45LM): a 3-way relay — three wired rockers, with the 4th (lowest) rocker acting as a wireless mini-switch you assign to other devices, scenes or automations.
Installation and placement in Singapore homes
- Licensed electrician required. The Z1 Pro is a mains-wired switch; installation involves strong current and must follow the national electrical code.
- Standard wall box. Mounts in a standard 86 mm junction box; tightening torque should not exceed 0.7 N·m.
- Rated for Singapore mains. 220–240 VAC, 50 Hz.
- Indoor use only. Not for humid or outdoor environments.

Does the Aqara Z1 Pro need a hub?
The physical rocker buttons work on their own for basic on/off, with no hub or internet required. To use app control, remote access, voice control, automations and the wireless touch slider, you need a compatible Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub such as the Hub M2 or the Hub M3.
Can the Z1 Pro be installed without a neutral wire?
